Black Mesa Half-Life Remake Is Coming Tomorrow

Half-Life remains to this day one of the best PC games ever released, and how better to whittle away the months until Half-Life 3 releases (or is announced) than by playing a modern remake of the original classic?

As of tomorrow, you can download Black Mesa, a free Half-Life 2 total conversion remake of the original Half-Life developed by industrious modders who felt Half-Life: Source didn’t quite live up to its potential as a Source Engine port of Half-Life.

This remake reintroduces the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of characters and environments seen in Half-Life. More than just a port, Black Mesa was built from the ground up in the Source Engine with new models, maps, soundtrack, voice acting and textures.

Black Mesa does not require Half-Life: Source to play – only a copy of any Source Engine game installed on Steam.

Check back tomorrow to download Black Mesa here at Game Front. In the meantime, you can stare at this lovely countdown timer.

Download links broken, and incomplete. Parts 2 & 3 listed, but the files are only a few hundred bytes. Appears the uploads weren’t completed in time?
