Lambda Core

  1. Let the lift descend. Head into the blue hallway. You will find a room with tons of cover, open space, and health. If you didn’t guess it already, you will be attacked. Kill all the enemies and head up the ladder.
  2. You will be met by a scientist. He will let you inside and inform you that this is the last entrance to the Lambda complex. He will open the next secure door. Head up the stairs and to the left. Find the weapon research scientist.
  3. Acquire the new weapon from the scientist. Feel free to test the gun out in the shooting range. Exit the room and head towards the elevator. Take the elevator down to the Lambda complex. Head towards the red hallway.
  4. Follow the red and yellow hallways and bypass the debris on the way. Open the door at the end of the hall and enter the coolant tank 2 room. Kill all enemies in area. Head to the bottom of the tank and press the green button underwater.
  5. Quickly jump on top of the ledge before it moves upward. Enter the door, pass the blood-stained wall, and turn right. Continue and head back down to the tank. Press another green button on the wall.
  6. Move up to pump station 2. At the back of the room, throw the power switch. Move up the catwalks and go through the fire door. Continue into the nuclear fuel rod storage room. Use the ladder next to the sign.
  7. Dive into the water and press another green button on the wall. You should be done in this area. Climb up and head back into the yellow hall where you entered. Head back to the main room and walk towards the blue hall leading to the coolant tank 1.
  8. Jump into the water in front of the emergency drain cap. Press the next button and call the lift down. Board the elevator and head back up to the top. You should now be able to throw the emergency drain cap switch. Turn it on and head back to the coolant tank.
  9. Once the coolant tanks and pumps are all activated, head back to the main room. Find a split hallway leading to either the maintenance station or the aux tank reactor access. Head left towards the aux tank.
  10. When you enter the aux tank room, kill all of the enemies. Descend from the ladder into the tank. Press the final button and wait for the gate to open. Swim through the water tunnel towards the radiation hazard sign.
  11. Swim upwards towards the fan to get some air. Swim through the next water tunnel. Climb the ladders and ascend upwards. You will soon reach a control room with a power switch. Throw the switch to the reactor and wait for the lasers.
  12. Avoid the lasers from the reactor and continue upwards. Find the burned hole in the wall caused by a laser. Jump through and head down the green hallway.
  13. Climb the ladder up the elevator shaft and into the emergency exit. Enter the next hallway and find the security office. Recruit the guard if you want to. Walk down the hallway and kill the hostiles.
  14. Continue and turn right at the B-201 door. Find the room with the balls of energy. The orange one will teleport you into the reactor. Time it so you end up on the platform. Use the teleportation at the center to ascend upwards.
  15. Continue teleporting onto the above platforms. This may take some practice. If you teleport at the wrong time, you will end up somewhere else and will have to start at the beginning. I recommend quick-saving before each teleportation.
  16. When you reach the top, press the disengage button on the console. A door will open on the device and there will be another place to teleport. Time your jumps to reach the center. Teleport one more time.
  17. Leave the green-lit room and find the red hallway. Climb the ladder from level B and follow the signs to the hazardous materials handling bays. Crouch under the metal door and destroy the turrets. Talk to the scientists in the next room.
  18. Listen to the scientist and guard talk about the creature you have to kill. Another scientist will be waiting for you near a portal. First, walk over to the security guard and let him unlock the armory. Resupply and take anything you want.
  19. Talk to the woman scientist and let her talk about the long-jump module. After you receive the device, exit the room and go through the metal doors. You can practice your long-jump in the big room before the action starts.
  20. The scientist will start to open the portal. He will start the device and a beam will appear in the middle of the room. Enemies will breach the room. Protect the scientist and kill all hostiles that appear.
  21. Once the long startup process is complete, get into position and run into the beam. After some heavy breathing and visual effects, your assignment will be postponed. Enjoy the credits and take satisfaction in knowing you completed Black Mesa.

This “walkthrough” sucks. The character cannot even jump at all and many of the puzzles cannot be solved according to what this says. I have had to complete them using other means, such as stacking boxes up to get out of an area because the SOB can’t jump!

Now I am stuck in the sewage area at #15! BS!!! You can;’t avoid them and you can’t slow down! F this “game”

You can jump ( space then ctrl )

On November 6, 2012 at 6:32 pm

Missing out KNERD, just beat the game and had a lot of fun. the puzzles are headache level hard, but you’ve got to master the ctrl-space jump and shift-jump to solve the puzzles.

i found this walkthrough pretty strange , it seems to be mixed up with the original halfelife , i have got to lambada core and i am going around the cliff, up i go but cant jump any further , this part is not even in the walkthrough , and also agree it is not possible to jump some of the distances (and yes i do know about using the ctrl key) so you have to build a platform with drums and pallets , score out of 100 would be 30 , i wonder if this person has ever played the game ,

Hey crusty! We’re here to help, but we’re going to need a little more information to solve this problem. Can you list which part of the Lambda Core guide is giving you trouble? Just a number of the entry is fine.

Sorry for the inconvenience! Also, make sure you’re using the Long-Jump Module when that becomes available in the Lambda Core, or Shift+Jump to make longer jumps when necessary. Many of the jumps can be tricky, but if you’ve still got problems, we want to help address them.

ok Kevin Thienhaus ,, fairs fair , first off i’m disapointed because Black Mesa is great in some ways better than original ,. OK where i am at present is “bm_c2a5c” up the cliff where i have to do a massive jump it looks like to get up the top , i will go back in my saved, to start of lamda core and find the long jump module , but from memory when you have passed that , you cant go back , if that is so then you should not be able to bypass it , i’m a bit confused on where the walkthrough is upto (as for me i’m always confused ) but it would be 13 onwards, and where is the part about going around the side of the cliffs ,, A bit of a ramble but i hope you get it

cheers crusty

#29-After activating the override, the water level will quickly rise. Swim towards the entrance and swim up to the ladder.

There is no ladder in the exit hole.

There is no ladder in the entrance/exit hole,so i can’t climb out!

There is indeed a ladder — the first emergency exit from the sewers will have a broken ladder. Don’t fret, because if you’re going the right direction, toward the opposite side of the door you first dropping into the sewer from, you will find an exit with an intact ladder.

I love the game, but like the others, the character can not jump near high enough. If you could make him jump twice as high—-gosh what an improvement.

Try using your brain KNERD. You might find you actually enjoy gaming that way. Or you may just be better off just watching movies and fantasising you are the main character. This walkthrough is good to get a kick start on areas you get stuck on and Ive found it good. Gives you enough to keep moving but still lets you work stuff out for yourself. Good work guys.

I start generator, talk to the scientist, but after I reach that red button and press ‘E’ to start rocket, nothing happens.!!!
Please help me

@Faisal Aslam,

Can you pinpoint exactly in the walkthrough where you are having trouble?

If it is “Blast Pit” make sure to hit both red buttons. There are two, each in separate rooms.

This walkthrough is wrong, you don’t fight soldiers in this chapter

Can you tell me which chapter you’re looking at? I take pride in the accuracy of our walkthroughs, so if the information isn’t correct, it should be fixed.

In the original game, I thought I’d NEVER get the ‘Duck-Jump’
This one’s tougher but funses!
C’mon, KNERD
It’s a GAME

Black Mesa

Where the heck have I been?! Just started playing this and its 2013??? I never got to play half life 1 but I loved 2 n da episodes 1n2. But yea. This blows the orange box copy away. Though the crouch, jump, sprint is taking some doin…lol.

Great walkthrough. up until the blast pit part. I restarted the generator successfully, and the scientist told me power was restored, so i went back to the control room to hit the “fire” button, but the button won’t work. any other switches i have to throw first? its gonna suck to have to go back through all that.

Hmm! I believe you need to return to the missile silo with the tentacle monster. There should be another path to go down that leads to the gas pumps. Get those working, and I think you should be good to go.

You are getting “neighboring famers” because you have the back set incorrectly and not anything to do with tension adjustment. If you are shooting with the square insert you want the arrow pointing to the 12 not the 16. Switch that and you will get perfectly spaced famers if you wind it correctly. Hence another reason to probably avoid sending your film out to Walmart and support a local lab instead. I work at an independent lab in Iowa City and we charge $9.99 for 120 and that includes a full set of 5×5 prints. Worth the extra money in my mind to get important feedback and higher quality prints.

Love the article exepct for the last portion. If I’ve just spent half the day shooting a roll of film, the last place I want to trust with the processing is Walmart’s third party film processing affiliate. Take it to a proper lab where you know the people, can get a snip test and can have it pushed or pulled if necessary.
