Blast Pit

  1. Break through the doorway barricaded with wooden planks. Walk into the next room and climb the ladder in the back. Jump on the boxes and enter the vent.
  2. Drop down onto the wooden boxes. Climb down the set of ladders to the bottom. Climb up to the rail system and either walk or use the train to reach the next area.
  3. On your way down the track, kill the houndeye enemies. Exit the train before you get launched into the radiation lake. Use the catwalk on the right of the radiation to reach the other side.
  4. Climb the ladders to the pipes and crouch into the broken pipe. Drop into the room and kill the bullsquid. Cross the pipe into the next hall and kill the second bullsquid.
  5. The next room will have a huge radiation lake. There will be bullsquid in the lake, so kill them. Follow the big pipe and jump to the shipping crate in the middle.
  6. Hop in the elevator and take it to the next level. Kill the houndeyes and move towards the center of the room. Activate the blast doors to enter the room. Talk to the dying scientist and move towards the rocket engine control room.
  7. Witness the horrible death of the second scientist and open the next door. You’ll need to be quiet. Crouch from now on as to not alert the creature.
  8. Move down the ladders and break through the door barricaded with wooden planks. You can sprint now without alerting the creature. Clear the gap and head towards Silo D for oxygen and fuel.
  9. Follow the blue and red pipes. When you reach the door marked with 5, turn right and kill the zombies below. Climb the ladder down the left hole leading into the water.
  10. Kill the bullsquid and turn left. Follow the pipe until you have to make another left. Climb the ladder into the next room.
  11. Open the door and kill the zombies inside. Find the giant fan and follow the catwalk. Climb down the ladder towards the fan.
  12. Climb down the second ladder. Once you are under the fan, throw the switch to turn it on. Quickly run back to the ladder. Climb up and avoid getting hit with the blade as it will cause instant death. Head back up the ladder.
  13. Jump into the pit as if you were trying to jump into the fan. You will start to float upwards. Enter one of the many vents and crouch through until you reach a stairway.
  14. Find a room with two pipes that should have valves on them. Open the door to the storage closet and grab a valve. Place it on the pipe and steam will start coming out. Turn both of the valves until the sign on the wall glows green and reads ‘Ready.’
  15. Walk up the stairs and follow the red and blue pipes back to the silo.
  16. Avoid the creature and move another level down. Break the wooden planks blocking the next doorway and follow the red line towards Silo D Power. Exit through the door
  17. Move into the hallway directly ahead. Kill the houndeyes and barnacles. Press the button on the wall to the right and call the lift.
  18. Ride the lift to the bottom of the shaft. Before it hits the radiated lake, exit to the platform and talk to the scientist. You will need to start the generator.
  19. Run down the tunnel and go left. The blast doors will open. Run around the generator while avoiding barnacles. Take the ladder to the top and take notice of the two rooms.
  20. Both of the rooms will contain a button needed to start the generator. Press the red button in each room and the power sign will light green and read ‘Ready.’
  21. Exit the way you came in. Talk to the scientist again and he will tell you the power is restored. Walk across the wooden planks to the ladder. Climb all the way up to where you called the lift.
  22. Go back the way you came. Enter the silo and sneak passed the creature again. Reach the control room where the scientist was murdered by the creature.
  23. Press the button and back up into a corner. The rocket engine will power up while simultaneously destroying the creature. Go back into the silo and move to the bottom.
  24. Climb down the ladder until you reach water. Dive under and emerge on the other side. You will reach a large swirling radiated lake. Follow the pipes in the direction of the water current.
  25. When you reach a platform with a valve, turn it. A pipe will then move into place. Jump into the pipes and use the them to get to the other side. Follow the pipes until it falls.
  26. Continue into the hallway leading to the next area.

This “walkthrough” sucks. The character cannot even jump at all and many of the puzzles cannot be solved according to what this says. I have had to complete them using other means, such as stacking boxes up to get out of an area because the SOB can’t jump!

Now I am stuck in the sewage area at #15! BS!!! You can;’t avoid them and you can’t slow down! F this “game”

You can jump ( space then ctrl )

On November 6, 2012 at 6:32 pm

Missing out KNERD, just beat the game and had a lot of fun. the puzzles are headache level hard, but you’ve got to master the ctrl-space jump and shift-jump to solve the puzzles.

i found this walkthrough pretty strange , it seems to be mixed up with the original halfelife , i have got to lambada core and i am going around the cliff, up i go but cant jump any further , this part is not even in the walkthrough , and also agree it is not possible to jump some of the distances (and yes i do know about using the ctrl key) so you have to build a platform with drums and pallets , score out of 100 would be 30 , i wonder if this person has ever played the game ,

Hey crusty! We’re here to help, but we’re going to need a little more information to solve this problem. Can you list which part of the Lambda Core guide is giving you trouble? Just a number of the entry is fine.

Sorry for the inconvenience! Also, make sure you’re using the Long-Jump Module when that becomes available in the Lambda Core, or Shift+Jump to make longer jumps when necessary. Many of the jumps can be tricky, but if you’ve still got problems, we want to help address them.

ok Kevin Thienhaus ,, fairs fair , first off i’m disapointed because Black Mesa is great in some ways better than original ,. OK where i am at present is “bm_c2a5c” up the cliff where i have to do a massive jump it looks like to get up the top , i will go back in my saved, to start of lamda core and find the long jump module , but from memory when you have passed that , you cant go back , if that is so then you should not be able to bypass it , i’m a bit confused on where the walkthrough is upto (as for me i’m always confused ) but it would be 13 onwards, and where is the part about going around the side of the cliffs ,, A bit of a ramble but i hope you get it

cheers crusty

#29-After activating the override, the water level will quickly rise. Swim towards the entrance and swim up to the ladder.

There is no ladder in the exit hole.

There is no ladder in the entrance/exit hole,so i can’t climb out!

There is indeed a ladder — the first emergency exit from the sewers will have a broken ladder. Don’t fret, because if you’re going the right direction, toward the opposite side of the door you first dropping into the sewer from, you will find an exit with an intact ladder.

I love the game, but like the others, the character can not jump near high enough. If you could make him jump twice as high—-gosh what an improvement.

Try using your brain KNERD. You might find you actually enjoy gaming that way. Or you may just be better off just watching movies and fantasising you are the main character. This walkthrough is good to get a kick start on areas you get stuck on and Ive found it good. Gives you enough to keep moving but still lets you work stuff out for yourself. Good work guys.

I start generator, talk to the scientist, but after I reach that red button and press ‘E’ to start rocket, nothing happens.!!!
Please help me

@Faisal Aslam,

Can you pinpoint exactly in the walkthrough where you are having trouble?

If it is “Blast Pit” make sure to hit both red buttons. There are two, each in separate rooms.

This walkthrough is wrong, you don’t fight soldiers in this chapter

Can you tell me which chapter you’re looking at? I take pride in the accuracy of our walkthroughs, so if the information isn’t correct, it should be fixed.

In the original game, I thought I’d NEVER get the ‘Duck-Jump’
This one’s tougher but funses!
C’mon, KNERD
It’s a GAME

Great walkthrough. up until the blast pit part. I restarted the generator successfully, and the scientist told me power was restored, so i went back to the control room to hit the “fire” button, but the button won’t work. any other switches i have to throw first? its gonna suck to have to go back through all that.

Hmm! I believe you need to return to the missile silo with the tentacle monster. There should be another path to go down that leads to the gas pumps. Get those working, and I think you should be good to go.

You are getting “neighboring famers” because you have the back set incorrectly and not anything to do with tension adjustment. If you are shooting with the square insert you want the arrow pointing to the 12 not the 16. Switch that and you will get perfectly spaced famers if you wind it correctly. Hence another reason to probably avoid sending your film out to Walmart and support a local lab instead. I work at an independent lab in Iowa City and we charge $9.99 for 120 and that includes a full set of 5×5 prints. Worth the extra money in my mind to get important feedback and higher quality prints.

Love the article exepct for the last portion. If I’ve just spent half the day shooting a roll of film, the last place I want to trust with the processing is Walmart’s third party film processing affiliate. Take it to a proper lab where you know the people, can get a snip test and can have it pushed or pulled if necessary.
