Black Ops Gets a Pretty Lame “Limited Edition” Re-release

Usually, when a game is re-issued many months after its initial release, it’s bundled with piles of DLC, making the new package a legitimate bargain. Look at Fallout 3 GOTY, which came with $50 in extras, or Borderlands, which included $40 of DLC.

The CoD: Black Ops “Limited Edition” isn’t anything like that, though, probably because Activision is still raking in dough on the game itself and new map packs. This re-release, which will cost you a full $59.99 eight months after the game was released, comes with the game and the $15 First Strike map pack. That’s all.

The re-issue hits next week, right as the new Annihilation pack is released on Xbox Live, so I can understand that not being included. But no Escalation? That’s just cheap, Activision. My face is so obviously sad right now I bet you can see it all the way from HQ.

@Varenvel, Actually, all the Call of Duty games are published by Activision, who is a fierce rival to EA Games, but this is pretty typical, seeing how greedy Activision is.

I kinda like EA at the moment comparied to Activision. They dont try to make you pay for dlc every 4 months.

lol @ the greedy corporate comments.

they stay in business because people buy the stuff they publish.

lame as this is, it’s still going to sell like a big dog.
