Blizzard Issues a Sneak Peek of Diablo 3 Update 1.0.5

Blizzard intends to bring players more detailed information about its intentions for the next big update for Diablo 3, but in the meantime, the developer has dropped a note about a few of the general things we’ll be seeing get updates when Patch 1.0.5 hits.

Without delay, here’s what Blizzard has planned, care of its post on

Defensive Skill Changes

Blizzard says it means to mess around with defensive skills and make changes “across the board,” with the net result that all characters will get a defensive skill buff and see a reduction in incoming damage. The idea here is that Blizzard wants to allow players to be able to keep their character builds diverse, and to make that happen, is trying to reduce the reliance on specific defensive abilities.

New Level 60 Event: Infernal Machine

Hitting up whatever the Infernal Machine is will allow users to take on “uber” versions of some of the toughest bosses in Sanctuary. You’ll need to be a Level 60 character, for one, and the loot drops you get off these bosses will be hefty, but Blizzard notes that “some assembly” will be required. Interpret that as you will.

New Ability: Monster Power

From Blizzard’s official description: “Similar to the ‘Players 8′ command in Diablo II, the Monster Power system is designed to give players more control over how challenging enemies are in each difficulty.”

What do you guys think? What do you want to see in 1.0.5?
