Blizzard Says Fourth WoW Expansion Already in the Works

World of Warcraft’s Cataclysm expansion won’t launch until December 7, but Blizzard in already thinking about a fourth expansion for their flagship MMO.

In an interview with Game Informer at Blizzcon, WoW senior producer John LeGrave said, “The thing we’re trying to do in the next expansion is pretty f’ing awesome.” He also added,

We’ve now got a central idea [for the next expansion] that makes me happy and gets me excited, and it makes everyone else happy and excited. When everybody gets happy and excited, we know we’re on to something. We don’t know if it’s going to be the final thing, but we know something good is coming. Will it top Cataclysm? I think it’s pretty freakin’ awesome. I’m really hopeful.

When asked when the WoW expansions would stop, LaGrave said they’d keep making them until Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime says stop. I doubt anyone is shocked by this, but it’s nice for WoW fans to get some confirmation that the expansions are still coming strong.
