Blizzard’s “Project Blackstone” Ties Into StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm

In December 2012, Blizzard registered the domain “Project Blackstone,” and while most speculation suggested the name would be related to either Diablo 3 or World of Warcraft, it turns out that it’s a marketing campaign for StarCraft 2′s upcoming first expansion, Heart of the Swarm, set to release in just over a month.

If you head over to the website, you’ll be prompted for a password, which industrious Reddit users have discovered to be:

Y7_$0>0k_3<$m

There, you can read messages from Dr. Helek Branamoor and the rest of the Blackstone Research staff. The whole thing has a slight Aperture Science vibe to it, and we can probably expect regular updates until the game's release. A Twitter tie-in lets you follow the Twitter accounts of multiple members of the Blackstone staff.
