Blocks Cometh, League of Evil iPhone Games Join Forces
When Halfbot’s Flash version of The Blocks Cometh was ripped off and sold in the iTunes App Store without permission, the developer who did the ripping, EdisonGame, switched Blocks’ main character for a character in another game, League of Evil.
That gave the two jilted developers an idea.
Once Halfbot and Apple had gotten everything settled, the offending copy removed, and its own version of the game heading to the App Store, the developer and Ravenous Games, the guys behind League of Evil, decided that EdisonGame had a good idea. Not the stealing their intellectual property part, but the mash-up part.
So the two devs created Blocks/League mash-ups of their own. The Blocks Cometh, which was submitted to Apple for approval yesterday, now features characters from League. And an update coming down the pipe for League of Evil works in characters from The Blocks Cometh.
At least a few good things came out of the IP theft — namely, we get a for-realsies iPhone version of The Blocks Cometh, and now we get some cool new features for it and the very cool League of Evil, too. League of Evil is available in the App Store right now for $0.99, and we’ll let you know when The Blocks Cometh is available for download.
