Books-A-Million Now In the Games Business

So the good folks at Book-A-Million (I like to call them BAMers because BAM is based in Alabammer) are now in the game business, according to a report by Gamasutra. In BAM’s financial results the company’s chairman made this statement saying they’re moving into the games market.

As we look forward to the fourth quarter we are excited about our new toy, gift and electronics departments, our entry into the video game business, our expanded offering of DVDs and the introduction of the NOOK range of e-readers including NOOKcolor.

GS followed that up by calling on corporate, from whom they got no response. Then they called a s**tload of BAM stores and learned that some are, indeed, selling games while other are not. The wrinkle that comes after is that the stores with games are only selling used games. They don’t buy used games, though.

So that’s that. Now you have a new place at which you can buy yer vijo games, and a book store now has competitors in the games industry.
