Borderlands 2 Review Roundup: People Like It

I doubt anybody’s shocked, but the earliest reviews for Borderlands 2 are hitting the Internet, and they’re pretty solid so far.

Generally, reviews seem to be hovering right around 90, and so far they’ve only gotten down to about 80.

Among the 90s: Eurogamer, IGN, Joystiq and GameSpy. It also got the big green “Yes” from Kotaku. The highest score I’ve seen is a perfect 100 from Atomic Gamer, which is calling Borderlands 2 the best shooter of the year so far, and throws in a call for adding it as a Game of the Year contender.

Destructoid‘s score skewed slightly lower, down to 85, while touting the UI options and other PC-specific features. The lowest score I’ve yet seen is from Giant Bomb, dropping down to a straight 80. I wonder how Cliffy B will respond to that one on Twitter.

Seems the big takeaway is: play with friends. Stay tuned for our Ross Lincoln’s review, coming soon.

Polygon gave it a 7.5, but it’s all just opinions. From what it sounds like this game fixes a lot (but not all) of the issues with the first game. I can’t wait to play it tomorrow.
