Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel – Fifth Element ZF-1 Easter Egg

Before Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is even out, hungry enthusiasts are already scrounging across Pandora’s Moon to find the references and Easter eggs. Recently, the guys over on Machinima-affiliate MorninAfterKill found a cool gun from one of our favorite movies — The Fifth Element. Hear some of the details below.

Watch as we preview the new characters and classes in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with Mitch as he plays as Nisha, Wilhelm, and Athena.

Fifth Element ZF-1 Easter Egg

The awesome super-gun developed by Zorg Industries in director Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element makes an appearance in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

If you’re lucky, one of the enemies on the moon might drop a legendary weapon called the ZX-1. While it doesn’t look very much like the famous rifle pictured above, it does feature a few sly references.

First of all, it’s called the ZX-1 (As opposed to Fifth Element’s ZF-1) and the description reads “Replay!” — a reference to the ZF-1′s special feature that allows a shooter to signify a target, and for every following shot to hit the same exact location.

The weapon has another neat feature. When un-zoomed, it fires a laser stream but switches to burst fire when you aim down the sights.

Expect to find tons more references, Easter eggs, and secrets in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Let us know if you find more in the comments section!
