Bright Light Dims, Gets Shut Down

The EA studio Bright Light studio isn’t so bright anymore — in fact, it’s gone totally dark — as the parent company has shut it down, reassigning some folks to other EA studios and just axing others outright.

Sorry, I don’t mean to make puns when people’s livelihoods are lost.

You’ll remember Bright Light from a trio of non-Lego Harry Potter titles, including the Kinect Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Those games were not very good, but they tried! They tried. There’s something to be said for trying.

So let’s collectively pour one out for Bright Light. Since we don’t want to play their Harry Potter games, we’ll honor them by playing The Old Republic some more. Yeah. That’ll be fun.
