Brink’s Get SMART Series: Classes (Video)

The latest video in Brink‘s Get SMART series has been released, and it focuses on the game’s four classes: Soldier, Medic, Engineer, and Operative.

Soldiers place explosives, refill teammate ammo, and throw fiery Molotovs.

Operatives complete hack objectives, disguise themselves as dead enemies, and locate hidden enemy mines.

Engineers complete construction and repair objectives, disarm enemy explosives, buff teammate weapons, plant hidden mines, and diffuse enemy mines.

Medics revive and heal teammates, as you’d expect.

Nothing groundbreaking here; just tried and tested formulas that have worked in class-based FPS games throughout the years.

Being able to change class during a round — without having to respawn — is a welcome feature, provided the developers have found a way to balance it. Presumably, each class has a limited amount of resources, and if changing classes allows you to replenish your resources, this can be easily exploited. But I’m sure this has occurred to the devs.
