Bug Apparently Breaks Battlefield 3′s Campaign for Some Players

As if there weren’t enough problems for the launch of Battlefield 3, it now appears there’s a glitch showing up late in the game that prevents players from completing it.

The bug appears the game’s final mission, called “The Great Destroyer.” I’ll try to avoid spoiling the story for you, but suffice to say, a broken quicktime event renders the game unfinishable. Players are already complaining about the bug on EA’s official Battlefield 3 forums (which you can read here at your own risk if you’re really worried about ruining the story), and we’ve independently verified the issue with the PC version for at least one of our staffers (sorry, Ron).

This is yet another issue in the mounting problems affecting Battlefield 3′s launch. The game’s online multiplayer system on PC, Battlelog, is reportedly creating struggles for some players. Servers have been down on Xbox 360, and the promised bonus for Playstation 3 players, Battlefield 1943, wasn’t included at all. Those players will be getting early DLC instead.

It seems Battlefield 3 might need a patch to get beyond this particular issue. We’ll let you know when one is forthcoming.

if you rebound the jump button from spacebar, press that as well as spacebar and it should work.

I couldn’t even play the beta on pc after 3 installs thanks to origin. reminds me of steam but even more pointless. They’re trying to reinvent the (square) wheel with origin. Cod MW 2 was crap when it came out. I bought the game for the pc, only to stick the first disc in and then wait for the whole game to download and install.

I read PooPoo’s post and thought I’d take a look at my key binding.
I found space bar was set as parachute and jump was F5 (A button on my mouse is set to it)

So I simply change parachute to another random key (like J) and I was no longer dying when jumping between them carrages. Finally completed the game!

*Possible spoiler* Good story, bit short, don’t like the fact it’s in flashbacks like COD Black Ops was. Just never feels immersive enough because you’re jumping to different times all the time etc.

Oh well. Bring on multi-player :-P

I check around and found one that work for me..

Just change your jump bind from spacebar to something else(e.g LeftCtrl) once you are jumping out from the train. Just keep pressing spacebar and your binded key(Letfctrl and Space together if using example).

However this doesnt work 100% so if anyone can post a better advice please do.

The binding fix worked for me, thanks.

I also just wanna say, having not played any of the COD single player games, I really liked this story. I didn’t know what the hell was going on half the time, but after finishing it, it all makes sense. I’ll probably play through it again now to pick up all the little bits and pieces which is not something I usually do.
