Bulletstorm Studio Working On Gears Of War 4

We’ve all known Gear of War 4 would happen the second Gears of War 3 ended and we all went ‘huh?’. You would be forgiven then if you said that optimism for Gears 4 is misplaced, but is it possible that it might actually end up being good? It seems a little more likely with the news that Bulletstorm creators People Can Fly have been tapped to work on the game.

Epic’s Mike Capps confirmed the news this morning on twitter, saying “Do I detect People Can Fly involvement?” YES YES YES!”. Of course, there’s no word yet on precisely what this involvement entails. People Can Fly previously worked on the PC version of the original Gears of War, so they may simply be repeating the job on 4. Hopefully, they’re being brought in to give the creaky Gears of War serious a much needed injection of crazy, and better writing, and not just on a port.

Of course, none of this should detract from the most pressing issue of the day. More of you need to run out right now and buy a copy of Bulletstorm. That game needs a sequel dammit.

I actually didn’t expect a Gears of War 4 based on 3′s ending, as it seemed to have wrapped up that trilogy. If you’ve read the books, 3′s story makes a lot more sense in context, and it was cool seeing places and people from the books. But just like God of War: Ascension, I really don’t care about a new Gears of War game, which most likely will be a prequel as well.
