Bungie Won’t Be at E3 This Year

Every week, Bungie drops an update on their site for users to see what’s going on at the Halo developer. This week, they’ve clarified a big question everyone around here has been asking: Will Bungie be at E3?

According to the weekly update, they will not. Here’s the official word:

Oh, and while we’re on the subject of clarification, we won’t officially be at E3 this year. Remember the Band-Aid approach I talked about last week? This is what it feels like in practice. Sorry for the sting. We wanted to make sure you didn’t get whipped into a rumor-fueled frenzy only to have your expectations unceremoniously dashed during expo week.

In addition to that news, they also said quite plainly that they are winding down the official Halo forums on Bungie.net. Bungie apparently is planning to, “pump the raging river of Reach posts directly into the gentle waters of halo.xbox.com.” They did say that the statistics and groups will be unaffected by this, and that they even have some new features planned for those folks who still use the Bungie community site.

It looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer than June to see what Bungie is up to these days, unless one of our guys can talk it out of an Activision rep.
