Buy A Used Wii U, Get Free Games?

Wii U games are apparently linked to the console itself, rather than a user account, according to a NeoGaf forum goer who found himself able to download multiple free games after acquiring a previously owned Wii U.

The user had made a new account, proving that the games purchased by the previous user were tied to the console itself. Even though the previous user wiped the hard drive, the new user had access to download the games he owned.

This news can clearly make the value of a previously owned Wii U greater than that of a new one, depending on which, and how many, games may have been purchased.

Could this improve tepid Wii U sales?

Oops. I suppose this could help sales of Wii U, but not in the way that Nintendo would want since the company wouldn’t get a cut of used sales, and obviously Nintendo gets nothing from those inadvertently free downloads either.
