Call of Duty 2013 Will Be the Next Modern Warfare (RUMOR)

Voice actors just can’t seem to keep their mouths shut about a 2013 Modern Warfare sequel. First, the voice actor behind the series’ Captain Price allegedly leaked the fact that he was reading lines for Modern Warfare 4 — before explaining it all away as a misunderstanding. Now, a source tells Siliconera that Activision has been recording voiceovers for the 2013 Call of Duty game in Los Angeles. The game allegedly takes place in the Modern Warfare arc, and the main character in the game is “a battle-hardened veteran in his mid-thirties with a nihilistic point of view.”

Here are some lines one of the voice actors was given to read:

“Reminds you of Phuket, doesn’t it? Only this time the dust gives you cancer… OK, park yourself and get ready. When this thing kicks off, put a hole in anything that moves.”

“This is Sentinel Zero One, successful crypto change on C2 net break, requesting immediate update of blue force picture and status of artillery, over. I have you broken and unreadable, I say again, requesting updates to friendly positions and status of arty support. Do you read, over?”

“We’ve got KVA on the move! They’re going to strongpoint the main gate, ETA two mikes! We’re providing support for our heavy rollers! Ready up and let’s move!”

“Goliath, this is Sentinel Zero One! We have enemy armor at the gate, hundred meters north of our position! Requesting close-air grid mark three-one-six!”

The source of these rumors is apparently reputable, having leaked portions of the Sleeping Dogs (True Crime: Hong Kong) script before Square Enix acquired the title.

Are any of these words actually arranged in an order that means something or am I the only who can’t read it?

I know they are all about making money, but for the love of god put your talents into a new project.

*rolls eyes* To those of you still interested and invested in the Call of Duty franchise: I respect your choice in games, I mean that sincerely.

To the rest of us though, this has become an over-used joke that is now completely unfunny. I don’t blame CoD for the “CoDification” of ther games by different developers. Those developers and publishers are misguided if they think that it will increase either the appeal, or the sales of their games (Looking squarely at you, EA/Bioware).

CoD is a fad, that is all. A fad that will hopefully die with this generation.
