Call of Duty: Ghosts Gets Pot-Themed DLC

We’ve seen them in almost every multi-player match in Call of Duty (heck just about every FPS title). The Xx420w33d5m0k3rxX’s and their ubiquitous ilk that, not only enjoy smoking cannabis but advertising to anyone that knows how to read that they do it.

Well, it seems that Activision is well aware of this audience and sees them as a possible marketing opportunity. Introducing the Blunt Force Personalization Pack. Yes, it’s real.

Deliver chronic lethality when you customize with the new Blunt Force Personalization Pack, complete with all-new themed camo, reticle, patch, playercard and background.

I’m a bit conflicted about this content pack. While I feel that if you want to smoke the mary jane, feel free to do so. What you do in your spare time is your business. I also won’t get into a debate about justifying marijuana and how it should be legalized. I do have issue with a company marketing to the playerbase that uses it, though. It’s just like how Bungie had agreements with PepsiCo and Frito-Lay to promote Mountain Dew and Doritos in their latest games.

This DLC feels like a desperate attempt by Activision to try and make themselves look “cool and hip” to the younger audience that will most likely buy this DLC because, you know, smoking weed is the popular thing to do.

You can find the Blunt Force Personalization Pack in your respective marketplaces XBox Live, Playstation Store or Steam for $1.99.

Man what a ty opinion piece.

You don’t like weed. Great. But it’s nothing new, and it’s nothing dangerous, and it’s nothing to throw your arms up in the air about like this.

You sound like an over-protective mother. Times are changing. People are finally realising that this natural plant is not a danger to the people. Rage more about alcohol. It’s causing more problems that weed.

Too bad they don’t use something stronger or more addictive, great idea though, we need more such ways for cod kids to finally remove themselves permanently.

@ugh (I’m reminded of Salute Your Shorts)

You clearly didn’t read much into his article. He isn’t against weed at all. It’s just the blatant catering to the moronic COD crowd and their obsessive need to advertise that they smoke like its some new hip thing.

We’ve all played games and seen the morons with the “BilboSwaggins420″ , “XxxyoloswagchronickeefxxX” , “iSmOkeDaChronz”, and a myriad of other moronic variants these dumb kids and teens use. People who base their name which will be used in every game they play around the most important thing that defines themselves in their own eyes: Weed use.

It’s pathetic, sad, and completely unoriginal. If anything that sort of stuff gives marijuana users a bad name.

@supremeallah This line stood out for me. Gave me an idea of this guy’s real thoughts:

“I also won’t get into a debate about justifying marijuana and how it should be legalized”

Indeed, but that comment doesn’t really take a side. It merely states that he doesn’t want to get into a debate about the subject.
