Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC Announced

The third DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts will be called “Invasion.”

The title of the new pack, as well as its contents, were the subject of a recent press release from Activision and Infinity Ward. According to said release, the Invasion DLC is set to release on Xbox Live and Xbox One on June 3rd and will cost $14.99.

Among the contents of the new pack will be four new multiplayer maps, “each with hidden secrets and unique Field Orders.” These maps will include “Departed,” a medium-sized based in a rural Mexican village during a Day of the Dead celebration. The “Pharoah” map meanwhile will take place in an abandoned Egyptian archeological site. In addition to a new locale, the map will also include flesh-eating scarabs “among other surprises.”

Accompanying these, in turn, will be the “Mutiny” and “Favela” maps. The former will drop players into a pirate hideout on a Carribean island while the latter will be “a refreshed version” of the fan-favorite of the same name from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Players who remember the original version of this map can expect changes such as architectural alterations.

Invasion will also contain the third episode of the Extinction narrative. Episode 3 will be called “Awakening” and will continue the content’s story by “taking players deep into an alien underworld to discover the truth behind the Cryptid attack.”
