Call of Duty: Ghosts Minimum PC System Specs Confirmed
Talk about hard drive hogs.
Earlier this month, Nvidia posted the minimum PC system specs for Call of Duty: Ghosts. Most notably, Nvidia claimed Ghosts would weigh in at a whopping 50GB on your hard drive. Fifty! That’s quite the leap from Black Ops 2′s 8GB. Considering the biggest game I’ve ever seen on PC was flight sim X-Plane 9, which features a virtual recreation of the entire Earth and is a ridiculous 70GB, Ghosts 50 gigs is pretty mind blowing.
Well, Infinity Ward has posted the official Call of Duty: Ghosts system specs, and no, Ghosts is not a 50GB game. Pretty close, though:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 40 GB
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
DirectX: DirectX 11
Internet: Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer.
So why will CoD: Ghosts hog so much of your HDD? Infinity Ward has yet to talk about specific PC bells and whistles, but Nvidia outed CoD: Ghosts as 4K compatible in September. Mega textures, baby. So if you’ve got $6,000 laying around for a ultra high-end PC and another $4K for a 4K TV, you’ll have one seriously shiny CoD experience.
The rest of us will just have to clear a couple other games from our HDD.
