Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 PC Will Support Dedicated Servers

Remember back in June when we talked with Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward at E3? He told us that Modern Warfare 3 was “Looking to support dedicated servers,” for PC. Remember when we told you how vital dedicated servers are to the lifespan of a game? As it turns out, someone at Activision was listening.

Eurogamer has a quote from Noah Heller of Beachhead Studios that is going to make a lot of PC gamers very happy. Here’s what he said:

The big announcement today is that we’re supporting dedicated servers for PC, which is really cool. And of course we’re working really hard right now on the customized version of Elite for the PC, because it’s an open platform and has some challenges.

Honestly, this isn’t a surprise. With the marketing and publicity push EA has behind Battlefield 3, Activision couldn’t afford to alienate PC gamers this time around.

So, what about it? Anyone excited?

Although this is good news, this wont convert me back to a CoD fan. They destroyed their fan base (including me) during Modern Warfare 2. And anyway even if u buy MW3, it will only last to the next CoD title. I mean look at Counter strike, BF2 or even 1942! With mod support, etc, people are still playing it. I have lost faith in infinity ward ): shame… CoD 4 was the best.
