The official Capcom website has a countdown going on now for…well, something at least. If you click on a picture with the message “Prepare Yourself,” a picture of the Earth will come up with something crashing into it and a clock counting down. The company has hinted at a major forthcoming announcement, so this may just be it. I’m getting a little tired of companies making an announcement that there will be an announcement though. Half the time, it gets everyone all excited and it doesn’t live up to the promise. Still, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Dead Rising 2.

The rumour is that whatever this is, its for the PS3. On the forum some PS3 owners were annoyed at the Monster Hunter shift and said they felt let down. Christian Svensson who is Sr. director of Strategic Planning & Research for Capcom responded in a post “Let’s see how they feel at the end of next week about us.”

I hope it’s Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.. if not, then some kind of downloadable version of Marvel Vs. Capcom

Announcement’s about announcement’s suck, but the latter announcement is still usually worth hearing. I’ll probably keep my eye on it…on this site, of course.

There is also the (rather obvious because of the planet pic so probably not true) chance that its a Lost Planet game on the PS3.

The 360 ‘exclusive’ Lost Planet has turned out to be as exclusive as most of its other games. It is being released on the PS3 and included with it will be all of the 360 downloadable content and all of the extras that PC gamers got and the 360 didn’t.
Street Fighter 4 is in development though no word on which platforms it will appear on. My guess is all of them.
There is another game called Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice in development which which feature the character Phoneix Wright.

Oops. I just realised the countdown doesn’t stop for another 10mins so I might have spoiled the tension for some

Just checked the details for Lost Planet. It has all the additional content from PC and 360 versions (good)…and 16 players online (bad). Now, I was disappointed with 16 players on Halo 3, but come on. 32 should be the minimum now for online (FPS) games. Counterstrike and Half Life have had that for ages! Heck, more games are now 64 players. I can’t understand why they’re not even going to bother updating that. I sincerely hope that changes, as 16 players has been long since eclipsed by more people.
