Carmack Frustrated That PC Has 10 Times the Power of Consoles

During the QuakeCon Keynote last week, iD Software co-founder John Carmack may have had nothing to say about Doom 4, but he certainly had no reservations when it came to expressing his feelings on the failings of both consoles and PCs.

Carmack said:

It is extremely frustrating knowing that the hardware we’ve got on the PC is often ten times as powerful as the consoles but it has honestly been a struggle in many cases to get the game running at 60 frames per second on the PC like it does on a 360.

Not long ago, Carmack said iD won’t make a crappy version of Rage for the Wii, so why don’t we all just do game developers a favor and buy games on PC from now on.

…until the next generation of consoles comes out, and the devs go running back to their cash cows.
