Carmack: id Mobile Dev Shuttered, Company Focused on Doom 4

Speaking at QuakeCon today, co-founder of id Software John Carmack mentioned that the developer has closed its mobile development in order to refocus resources on Doom 4.

Carmack expressed his chagrin at the abandonment of the mobile platform, given his love for working on it, but with finite resources to work with, the developer needed to focus on its big AAA projects.

Doom 4… Use DX11. OpenGL is such an appalling API most GL games look terrible. DX11 deals better with realistic dark shadows and lighting if a dev wants quality in their game go DX11 not Dx9/OpenGL.
