Casey Hudson, Mike Gamble Tease Mass Effect 3 DLC with Pics

New images coming out of the BioWare camp have given us a bit of a tease as to the final single-player DLC drop for Mass Effect 3, but they don’t give us much in the way of new information.

The pics come by way of producers Casey Hudson and Mike Gamble, who released the images today on their Twitter feeds (click the images to expand them). What little we do know about the upcoming DLC is that it was a big undertaking, bringing in the whole Mass Effect 3 writing staff. It’s tough to say exactly what we’re looking at in either image, but that’s not about to stop us from speculating!

First off, the top image depicts a casino with a lot of people milling around, and I’d wager that the location exists on the Citadel. It potentially could be another city of some kind, but with that many non-combatants around, plus the transports off on the left and the general neon look, a new area of the Citadel seems most likely. It’s also probably not Omega or some other known location, as many (if not most) of them are closed off by the late stages of the game (pre-end game), and Omega is unreachable except through the last DLC pack anyway.

The second image depicts a Krogan and a hammer weapon we haven’t previously seen. The background to me suggests only a few places, such as Thessia. It’s more likely this is a place we haven’t yet visited, but the cities in the background would suggest a major city or planet to me, so I doubt it’s some backwater we’ve never heard of before.

Feel free to chuck your own idle speculations in the comments.

A friend of mine pointed out that there is a Krogan in the 1st picture that looks a lot, if not is, Wrex. Maybe this is some kind of Krogan themed dlc? Heck idk. not enough info available on it yet.

On the subject of known locations in the Mass Effect universe, what about Illium?

The picture with the krogan with a gravity hammer is for multiplayer. Its one the firebase goddess multiplayer map by the landing zone. They teased a new sp and mp dlc

Well, last chance for them to fix the disgrace of an ending, unlikely though with the idiots Casey and Mike in charge.

Personally I gave up hope months and months ago. Years from now when the franchise is no longer active, fans will look back and treat Mass Effect 3 like all other disappointing sequels, either excluding the bad parts from canon or omit the game entirely.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, Duke Nukem Forever, Deus Ex: The Invisible War. Mass Effect is far from the first to screw up, but can it recover like some other franchises? Unlikely with the current team in charge, the ones that do pull a franchise from the brink are often created by fans of the original many years later. For example Bethesda with Fallout, Eidos Montreal with Deus Ex.

It’s doubtful that this dlc will do much to the endings unfortunately. The last two both revealed aspects in the story that should have been game changing yet did nothing to the outcome aside from give you military assets. I doubt they would start now. : (

I have yet to pick up any of the singleplayer dlc. Due to the fact that we already know the outcome of the game and the fact that these dlcs do not alter said outcomes, they aren’t nearly as interesting. On top of this I believe that both of the previous dlcs are overpriced for that they are. Omega specifically doesn’t give you enough to warrant its price tag.

That location in the Citadel is know. It is right around or in the Dark Star (or sim) casino you get drunk at in ME2.

The second picture with the hammer-wielding Krogan looks to be multiplayer DLC, as an astute poster on the Bioware forum pointed out the background is Thessia from the Firebase Goddess map. Images here:

I’m curious, but i’ll not buying it in the end because, like so many peoples already said, it doesn’t change anything about the infamous endings…

This DLC will gives us what?… New weapons (already a ton of it)?… A few more points for your War Readiness (already have plenty)?… A few hours of shooting thing (got plenty of that already)?… New multiplayer things (won’t change the fact that its repetitiveness finally bore me to death)?…

Like all non-free DLCs they made (including day one DLC), I’ll pass…

Many peoples here are not true Mass Effect fans or ceased to be true fans or became rogue fans(hiding the fact they still love ME) just because of the endings. Me, i’m satisfied with the endings since the release of the Extended Cuts.

After the EC release i stopped bablings against the original endings and started to be hostile against the bablings of the Extended Cuts endings.

I’m a forever Mass Effect fan and i will buy every story-driven DLC they will throw at us for free to 20 bucks. I’m not a EA butch i’m just a friend of a minor employee from Bioware Montreal.

I’m saying Illium for the bottom one.

@SevenCell – I’m guessing overpriced, histrionic, linear bulls*** on all of them.
