Casting the Diablo 3 Movie

Enchantress – Svetlana Khodchenkova

After a solid cameo in last year’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, this Russian actress has the exotic accent and the otherworldly quality we’d look for in an Enchantress.
Scoundrel – Colin Farrell

Farrell is a hit with the ladies and something of a scoundrel in real life. He might even be convinced to grow some awesome facial hair for the role.
Templar – Brandon Routh

He’d need some Hollywood magic to make him look older and little more grizzled, but experience playing Superman will help him capture the Templar’s overzealous naivete.
Covetous Shen – James Hong

Acting legend James Hong provides the actual in-game voice for Covetous Shen, and his wonderfully weird performance deserves recognition here.
Haedrig – Robert Carlyle

Gauranteed to do a better Scots accent than the in-game voice actor. Also has the requisite beaky nose and angry eyebrows. Might need to pack on some “I’ve been wielding a hammer for my whole life” muscle.

D3 may be a success moneywise but it’s a flop by every other measure. And this article is tripe.

The first 1/2 of the movie would have to be Error 37, you know, for accuracy.

I think the Demon Hunter is inspired by Kate Beckinsale’s character in “Van Helsing” more then “Selene” from Underworld…
