Catherine is Stupidly Atlus’ Biggest Launch Ever

People bought in to the hype on Catherine, and now Atlus is rolling in dough, as the title is the company’s biggest launch ever. That’s stupid, considering how bad the game is, but whatever.

“Catherine has exceeded our highest expectations,” said Atlus VP of sales and marketing Tim Pivnicny in a statement. “It released last week to tremendous critical acclaim and fan response, bolstered by the release of a demo a couple weeks prior, and continues to generate discussion among fans for its mature themes, engrossing subject matter, and frantic, challenging gameplay.”

Ugh. *rolls eyes*

They don’t say what the sales numbers actually were, of course.
