CG Resident Evil Movie Hitting Next Year

I know I wasn’t the only person to be disappointed when the news came that the Resident Evil movie(s) wouldn’t follow the plots of the games. Sure, they aren’t the worst movies, but being a longtime fan on the series meant that I was attached to the established storyline. If the live action films didn’t quite fit the bill for you, then worry no longer, as Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced that they plan to produce a full-length CG (computer generated) movie based on the franchise. It will be entitled Biohazard: Degeneration; Biohazard is the name the series goes by in Japan.

The storyline of the film will be entirely new, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see familiar characters and settings from the games. (I hope.) Production is already underway by Capcom and Sony Pictures’ Japanese subsidiary and will feature “groundbreaking visual effects” in its “terrifying release in 2008.”Just to note, the above image isn’t from the movie. I just think Wesker is awesome.

    Bleh, CG.

CG is what killed Disney. Beowulf looks all plastic and shiny.

7 years since Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and they still can’t get the mouth animations right.

I tell ya, I’m burned out on movies chock-full of CG. Costs be damned, bring back the authentic stuff. They better not ruin Indy 4 with a bunch of CG crap. *shakes fist* You hear me George Lucas?

It’s about time Capcom took back what’s theirs. I want to see Leon on the big screen, and he suvives, not die like Carlos on RE:Extintion.

Just a little while longer until we see it.

The CG might be more improlve then ten years ago.
