Check Out More Screens from Dead Space 3 (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

It looks like the rumors we’ve been hearing about Dead Space 3 are true, based on a whole mess of supposed Dead Space 3 images that have come care of All Games Beta.

The images include the iconic armor of series protagonist Isaac Clarke, as well as a guy in red who appears to be John Carver. We were first introduced to Carver through a short graphic novel-style film that shows Carver on a planet called Unox, and it seems that he will, in fact, be the co-op character that’s been rumored to appear in the next game.

It’s tougher to say, but it also appears as though these screens confirm the ice planet rumors that have been floating around for a while, based on the gear the characters are wearing and the locales.

Dead Space is turning into Resident Evil. It was scary at first, jumpy and what-not. But now it’s turning into an action game with horror taking the back seat.

After Dead Space 2, I always thought Dead Space 3 should finish the trilogy on Earth with an underwater lab setting, considering the original Marker was found in the deep sea. I wrote a blog about it listing all the pros about doing deep sea horror to mix up the space horror setting, even the Dead Space twitter account thought I made a compelling argument: http://www.ign.com/blogs/sharkey1337/2011/02/01/my-vision-for-dead-space-3/ (sadly some images seem to be broken now)

Anyway, I’m cool with them doing The Thing on a snow planet, I just hope they keep the series fresh over time. I’m really hoping the coop works that the second player only shows up in coop, leaving Isaac alone when going solo.

I’m not excited :( I want to as I was for the first one, but I’m just not. Oh, if only they would’ve scrapped it all since the second one.. what horrors would you expect but the unexpected.. yet them necromorphs are back again with their unpolished autodismemberment mechanics.. well.. sad.
