Check Out This Monty Python Take on Angry Birds (TRAILER)
Is there an Angry Birds game-making blueprint I’m not aware of that you can send in cereal box tops to get or something?
Apparently the best game ever (ugh) is getting another clone, although this might be one I can handle. A Monty Python-themed take on slinging animals into structures is on the way to iPhone, mixing in elements of the troupe’s famous humor and its biggest film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Okay, I’m not hating the concept.
Monty Python’s Cow Tossing concerns that French soldier from atop the castle (remember the African swallow discussion?), who is charged with defending the keep from attackers with a catapult. Trouble is, the only available ammunition comes in the form of various farm animals.
Most of the gameplay of the physics-based puzzler seems to be pretty similar to Angry Birds, although there are additional elements and power-ups to mix things up. Mostly, though, the game just seems to be hitting the Monty Python property and humor, which I can get behind, even if the game isn’t quite as pretty as Angry Birds and is something of a bandwagon title.
According to the YouTube listing that goes with the game’s trailer (below), there’ll be 80 levels when the game comes out, six different animals to shoot at things, and the ability to upgrade your catapult over time. You’ll also be able to unlock Holy Grail video clips. Sounds like there might be enough interesting content here to distinguish the game from its super-popular competition. The game’s due out anytime — the YouTube trailer says end of January. Which is now.
