Child of Eden ‘Synesthesia’ Trailer (Video)

Synesthesia is a neurological phenomenon in which the experience of one type of sensory input triggers an involuntary corresponding other sensory reaction. A common synesthetic event is to experience colors as having a corresponding smell, or to associate sounds with touch sensations. It’s fairly widespread, with possibly 1 in 23 people are born with the trait (it’s reported to occur during use of psychedelic drugs. It’s as cool as it sounds, but a difficult thing to describe to people who have never experienced it.

Until right now. Watch this trailer for the upcoming rhythm game Child of Eden and you’ll know exactly how it feels. I had zero interest in getting a Playstation Move or Kinect until just right now. Enjoy:

Child of Eden is available for Xbox 360 on June 17th and for PS3 in September. I will definitelly get my hands on it during E3 and report back on the experience. In the meantime, you can download the Child of Eden trailer.

Incidentally, the music is provided by Genki Rockets.
