China’s Blizzard Theme Park is Certainly Not Made Up

You might have heard rumors circulating a week or so ago about there being a Blizzard theme park being built in China. You might have dismissed them with a scoff. But turns out, those rumors are true, according to a Chinese news report and some photos of the freaking thing being built.

According to the report, the place is called Joyland, and it’ll include five different sections, each with a different theme (think Universal Islands of Adventure for reference). They all have slightly weird names, though: Universe of StarCraft, Moles World (which seems to be geared toward small children), World of Legend, Terrain of WarCraft and Island of Mystery.

The park was reportedly set to open in March, although the photos of it don’t seem like it’s finished enough for that to be the case. There are also no awesome cosplayers, which really makes it hard to visualize how the place will work.

I’m really hoping that at least the StarCraft section of the park will be filled with “cast members” like people dressed up as characters at Disney Land. And hopefully they’ll have recordings on hand so that when you talk to them, they say the things their units would say when you click them.

“In the pipe. Five by five.” Totally worth a trip to China.
