Choppy 10 Mins. of DayZ Gameplay

How is Dean “Rocket” Hall’s DayZ standalone shaping up? See for yourself.

Hall has posted nearly 10 minutes of DayZ gameplay footage, a video he actually recommends you not watch due to its various bugs and placeholder images and sounds.

“The video you are about to watch contains raw, unedited footage of a video game in pre-alpha and may deeply trouble experts who post YouTube comments,” Hall warns. But, like you, I watched it anyway:

Personally, I enjoyed the fact that this particular village in DayZ’s world is made up almost exclusively of blonde-haired women. I’m also a fan of hatchets that make bullet ricochet noises when you strike walls. And why run around in circles when you’ve got a compass?

Sorry, Dean, couldn’t resist.

Hall and Bohemia Interactive are currently prepping DayZ for alpha testing. No firm date on the alpha launch, and Hall recently noted in a Reddit AMA that he’s more concerned with ironing out performance issues than announcing release dates.

I really wish they would change the engine for this game to something combat wise that would suit the style of game it is. because it still looks like it plays like a mod not a release title.

But it won’t stop the gaming from being fun though!
