Class is in Session: Thief 101 Gameplay Trailer

A myriad of internal problems, multiple delays, and lots of rejiggering. That’s been the story of Thief’s development thus far, but as Eidos Montreal finally nears the finish line, I can’t help but think the results are looking splendid.

The latest gameplay trailer offers a crash course in all things Garrett: surveying the environment, choosing your path, executing the heist, and getting the hell out of there alive. It’s aptly named Thief 101, and class is in session below:

My only concerns at this point are the setting and the combat — the ‘predator’ gameplay style Eidos Montreal describes. Garrett is a thief not a super soldier, and I hope the devs recognize that and shape gameplay accordingly.

As for the setting, I like the dark, shadow-filled city, but I can’t help but worry that it will grow mundane over time. Hopefully there will be some sections of the game that offer some visual variety.

We’ll find out when Thief is released on February 25 in North America, Feb. 28 in Australia and Europe.

A dying city? Plague ridden streets? Ruthless rulers and 19th century architecture? Is this Thief or Dishonored?

it looks promising not something very ground shacking but it looks decent as for the dumbs like @Hawke down there, seriously Thief was the inspiration for Dishonored is one of the first few Stealth game franchises out there and the most hardcore at times, I do indeed think the plagues are something normal in an environment like in Thief. the black plague and stuff catch my idea.
