Classic Anti-Piracy Ads

fast1.jpg

Piracy when it comes to games and software is nothing new, but these ads from the 1980s and 1990s were certainly interesting. If you like the above image, there are seven others at the via link below. I find it interesting how history repeats itself and goes through various circles. It seems like the anti-piracy movements died down for a bit in the late 1990s only to come back in full force after the year 2000. I certainly don’t support piracy, but I also think it’s something that will never go away. I’d love to know how effective these ad campaigns were, or if they just seemed funny to people. The above ad was interesting to say the least that they were encouraging people to turn in their school teachers for copying discs.
