Composer Cliff Martinez Says He’s Working On Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4 has seemingly been confirmed by a composer working on the game.

Cliff Martinez, the composer behind the killer soundtrack for Drive, confirmed Far Cry 4′s existence in an interview with Lost in the Multiplex. The interview has since been updated, and any mention of Far Cry 4 has since been deleted, but a screenshot of a original version of the interview (below) shows the original quote. You can read the original interview via the Internet Wayback Machine as well.

Martinez is a Hollywood veteran, having worked on Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Traffic, Contagion, and Drive, among others, and he’s one of the most sought-after composers around at the moment. His involvement with the Far Cry team means the excellent technology and mechanics we’re used to seeing in the franchise married with some (hopefully) unbelievable music.

Far Cry 3 enjoyed favorable reviews and a high sales after its release last Fall. With a Metacritic score around 90, and 6 million-plus units sold, it was only a matter of time before a fourth Far Cry game was confirmed.

Farcry 3 was a good game as far as gameplay. Looking past the story and the annoying characters, it really was fun to play. It felt lacking in certain areas, such as the hunting aspect and some of the weaponary. And it felt kinda short, but it was fun to play.

It would be nice to see Far Cry 4 on the Cry3 engine.
