Cliffy B Offers To ‘Fix’ Resident Evil

Unfortunately, you’ll have to file this under ‘things that will never happen’, but it’s hilarious nonetheless. So here goes!

We all know how Resident Evil 6 was not universally loved. Our own Phil Hornshaw gave it 75/100, and for good reason. It’s kind of a mess and perhaps strays too far from the series’ roots while retaining legacy features that do nothing but frustrate in the current incarnation. Lots of long time fans of the series came away from RE6 feeling significantly let down, among them, none other than former Epic braintrust Cliff Bleszinski. Having recently left his position at Epic after 19 years, he’s currently planning his next move, and apparently this includes trolling his colleagues.

Over the weekend, he tweeted this hilarious offer to Capcom: “Hey, Capcom. Call me. We can fix Resident Evil. Together. :-) ” Giggle. Apparently, the a lot of people want to see this happen because the tweet was shared by more than a thousand people. Capcom took it in stride, responding that they’re interested, so long as Cliffy agrees to “bring Pizza.”

Cliffy later admitted he was a bit cocky, but that doesn’t make him wrong. Resident Evil was a serious misstep. Do better, Capcom! And as for Cliffy? Get a job hippie! (j/k).

You make it sound like 75/100 is a bad score.

I can fix Resident Evil and the first step in doing so is to shorten the cutscenes by lets say, “ALOT”. Next is the coop. I have no problem with it but give people the option to play single player without the other character being there. Finally add alot of horror elements and this means horror in a sense that its not ruined by a cutscene.

As for Cliffy fixing this game he should stay out of the industry because that Gray and black Gears of War is far worse than resident evil.
