CoD XP: The New MW3 Multiplayer Mode “Kill Confirmed” Will Put a Heavier Emphasis on Teamwork

MW3 will feature a new multiplayer mode called Kill Confirmed. In this mode, simply killing enemy players won’t earn you any points toward winning the match. In order to score points, players must collect the dropped dog tags of fallen enemies to “confirm the kill.” Players can also deny their enemies points by picking up the dog tags of fallen teammates to deny the other team points. Opponent’s dog tags appear gold, while teammates dog tags appear red.

This new game mode will severely discourage sniping as killing someone from a mile away is useless if the sniper can’t grab the tags. It will also promote team work as players who move in groups will be able to deny kills by scooping up teammates dog tags. Players who don’t have anyone watching their back are sure to have their tags taken, thus making them a liability to their team

This has the potential to be wildly popular. Getting sniped in the head from a mile away is easily one of the most frustrating things about CoD multiplayer. Now players have a game mode where that type of play is useless. Unless, of course, players develop some sort of system where one person snipes and the other runs around and gets the tags. But let’s face it, that level of cooperation is a rare thing on X-Box Live.
