Codemasters Drops THQ, Teams with Warner Bros

Earlier this month, THQ was being sued for $10 million by Adidas. The bad news continues to roll in, as it seems developer Codemasters has dropped THQ as a publisher and signed with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the distribution, sales, and marketing of its 2012 games in North and South America, including DiRT Showdown and Formula One racing title F1 2012.

THQ published Codemasters 2011 games, including DiRT 3 and F1 2011, and while we can only speculate on the reason the company isn’t publishing Codemasters 2012 games, the troubles THQ has been having since December certainly haven’t helped. Layoffs, division closures, and title cancellations have had many in the industry concerned about the company’s future.
