Codename Falcon: Probable Prices (Xbox 360 Systems)

Back on July 9th, I reported on the top secret project out of Microsoft known as “Code Name Falcon”. Since that time, a lot more is known about the secret plans of Microsoft. My sources tell me that the current price cuts coming up for the Xbox 360 consoles has little to do with Falcon. The current sales that are about to take place are simply a way for Microsoft to clear out all the old stock.

Sometime after September or October, we should see the units that are part of Falcon hitting the shelves. It will all depend on how quickly the old stock clears out. The main difference will be that all systems will have HDMI, different mother boards, more fans and good heat sinks.

Here are the probable prices on systems that will be released during the Falcon period:

Core $250

Premium $300

Elite $350

Anything can change between now and then, but this looks like an extremely probable situation. I have seen other journalists reporting basically the same information as well. Also keep in mind that the consoles of the future from Microsoft will probably no longer have any overheating issues, or at least not many. This could be a very nice holiday season for anyone shopping for game systems after October. With these prices, Nintendo and Sony will be forced to also drop prices. “The Wii is only $250″ will no longer be a valid debate when facing off with the new 360s. Better prices are definitely just on the horizon for all systems.
