I suppose this was inevitable. With the popularity of brain training games on the DS, it was only a matter of time before someone decided to put that concept to a much more specific use. In this case, that means a game that will help students prepare for the SATs is currently in the works. Luckily, it’s actually being made by Kaplan, who have been in the test preparation business for 70 years, in conjunction with Aspyr Media. Details are sketchy at this point, as the game is still in the preliminary stages. So far, all that’s been revealed is a mock up (shown above) and that fact that you’ll actually have a character representing you, who will evolve in terms of their emotions and such over time. The developers are also claiming that the game will not be a “game” per se and will instead work more like a study session. Aspyr plans to reveal more details, including the name of the game, in a few weeks.
It’s always seemed a little hard to study for a general knowledge test, in my opinion. But I guess whatever they come up with would beat cracking open a book. Or at least become a new bullet point for kids trying to convince their parents to buy them a DS.

Heh, I saw this coming..
Luckily I’m done with that stage as well. But for those teens who want to prepare a DS SAT game might be a lot more exciting than those boring books.
