Command and Conquer Designs Lifted from Warhammer 40k

Promotional wallpaper art for EA’s Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances has been found to have striking similarities to designs from Game Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 — so striking that coincidence can be ruled out.

Discovered by redditors Bro-jangles and corevirus, the picture above illustrates the similarities between the 40k Imperial Guard Baneblade and the C&C Bombard tank, while the picture below compares the 40k Ork Bonecruncha and the C&C Grinder tank.

Electronic Arts is a licensing partner of Games Workshop for the fantasy branch of Warhammer, but whether they are infringing on copyright by lifting designs from the sci-fi branch is yet unknown. EA currently operates the MMO Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, as well as the free-to-play Facebook game Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes.
