Comment of the Week: A Scientific Experiment

It’s been a crazy week of E3, with lots of news to digest — you can see it all over at Game Front’s E3 channel. The big story, of course, has been the console showdown between Sony and Microsoft, with the Playstation 4 emerging as the consensus winner.

Earlier this week, I summarized the situation in a post: How Sony Won E3 2013. As you might expect, discussion in the comments was vigorous. One poster, “gasmaskangel,” reacted strongly to a statement by former Epic developer Cliffy B, which was included in the article. Check out Cliffy B’s tweets below, then read on for gasmaskangel’s hilarious rebuttal.

“I’ve decided to perform a scientific experiment with regards to Cliffy B’s statements. I simulated the non-existent dude bro idiot by drinking heavily and smashing my head in my head in a car door until I could no longer remember my social security number or the scientific method. Unfortunately, I could still tell the difference between $400 and $500, and read the amazon page that listed CoD ghosts as coming to both 360 and PS3. Therefore I still have no reason to buy an XBone, or if I’m this hypothetical proto-idiot even a PS4.

See, the “core” group that microsoft pissed off are the ones who get worked up about the whole console war thing, Billy McDouchehat who only plays x-box for CoD has no such brand loyalty. He just wants CoD and he doesn’t really care how he gets it. Microsoft is still going to get spanked by this unless they can either win back the “core” gamers or lower the price enough for people who don’t really care as much to buy the xbone over the PS4.”

Woohoo, a Derpibooru-ian got comment of the week! :)

Seriously though, GMA brought up a good point: The “GTA CoD Madden” fan is a fan of those things, not the box it’s played on. From my experience, there is no difference between an Xbox CoD fan, and a Playstation CoD fan; the same goes for GTA fans on both platforms. The fans he (GMA) mentioned are indifferent to the console wars, whereas the “meme makers” aren’t.

Cliffy B can go on all he wants about the “GTA CoD Madden” fans that will buy up anything…but even those fans aren’t stupid (at least not the ones I’ve spoken to), and for him to say they are, just goes to show how indifferent developers and publishers within the AAA industry are to the plight of its CUSTOMERS (not its fans).

*Applause* the most hilarious rebuttal ever. and gasmaskangel is right the core are the people who buy a console day 1. Microsoft have done themselves no favours.

After having my attention brought to the previous article mentioning my name, I have to say I am disappointed and enraged at Gamefront, and ‘gasmaskangel’, if that is indeed your real name, that I have had my good name besmirched (without due opportunity to defend myself) by associating it with the Xbox One.

Good day, sir.

It is rather amusing that each game Cliffy mentioned is multiplatform, so the only real difference is if those people really, really wanted to stick with Live. Many of the people I know that have a 360 got it to play games with their friends and their friends went with the 360 because it was cheaper earlier on. The exact same thing could end up happening for Sony this go around.

I knew that comment would get comment of the week as soon as I saw it. Well done, gasmask.

There’s a reason a steak costs more than a big mac, same as why a Ferrari costs more than a Nissan. Can you guess why? Take your time on this, ask your parents if you want.

It’s because they’re BETTER than the cheaper one.

Same goes for Xbox One. It’s not rocket science – you pay more, you get more. $100 is a tiny amount these days anyway so if you’re too cheap to stump up the dough then you deserve your suck-ass G@ystation. lol

CliffyB knows the industry better than some tard on Enjoy playing Crash Bandicoot 17 or whatever crap they’re making for PS4 while the real gamers enjoy Call of Duty and Mass Effect 4.

Cliff Blowzinski is the Miley Cyrus of game devs – washed up and out of touch with reality. What’s he done worth mentioning in the past seven years? “Gears” was so bad it drove him away from the industry, and this has-been still hangs at the conventions and shoots his mouth off like he’s relevant.

@lol. when I think of COD I don’t think steak or Ferrari. I think big mac. and lets face it after the horror show that was mass effect 3, another ME isn’t exactly a system seller. and as GMA said why would I spend $500+ on an xbone and COD when I can just spend $60 and buy it for my 360.

always a pleasure to hear you rant though lol
