Company of Heroes 2, Saints Row IV Get Free Weekend on Steam

If the somewhat mixed reviews, not to mention the outright ban in Russia, stopped you from pulling the trigger on Company of Heroes 2, now is the perfect time to revisit your decision. Company of Heroes 2 is free to download and play on Steam all weekend long.

In typical Steam Weekend fashion, that also means CoH2 is getting a major price cut. Now through January 20, you can grab Relic’s WWII RTS for just $13.59. That’s 66% off its regular $40 price.

I list the original Company of Heroes among my all-time favorites, and while I enjoyed CoH2, it simply didn’t live up to its much-lauded predecessor. The core gameplay is great. The problem for me is the Eastern Front setting, which was already done (quite well, in fact) in the original CoH by modders, and the units of the Russian faction in the core campaign. They’re just not as much fun. I feel downright guilty calling in cheap conscripts to serve as cannon fodder.

Anywho, you can find out for yourself this weekend. Download and play Company of Heroes of 2 for free on Steam.

On the other end of the reception spectrum is Saints Row IV. Just about everyone loved it, including our own Ross Lincoln who gave Saints Row IV a glowing 93/100 score in Game Front’s review. Volition’s open-world insanity is free to download and play on Steam until 1 p.m. PST on Sunday. If you enjoy driving your Dildozer around, you can buy the game for $20, 50% off it’s regular price.
