Company of Heroes Online Coming to America

coh-1

One of my favorite RTS titles from the past few years is Relic’s World War II masterpiece, Company of Heroes. I still find myself marshaling battalions of British infantry to combat the advancing Nazi threat on a regular basis. Now I may be able to find a few more people to play alongside.

According to VG247, the free-to-play online version of Company of Heroes is coming to US. Word is that the single player version will be available for free as well.

As with most free-to-play online games, simply playing the game costs you nothing. However, you can progress much faster if you open your wallet to buy some virtual goods by way of microtransactions.

THQ already has free-to-play version of Company of Heroes running in China and South Korea, so they obviously know what to expect from this business model.

There’s no date for the US launch yet, but I can assure you I will be keeping an eye on it. We’ll let you know if we get any more info.
