Confirmed — Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Coming to PC

Look at you, Namco Bandai, giving the PC all this love.

After fans convinced the console-centric publisher to ship a PC version of Dark Souls last year, it appears Namco Bandai sees our platform of choice in a new light. How else do you explain this one: Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, which was a console exclusive way back in 2010, is coming to Steam later this month.

Officially it’s the Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Premium Edition, and Namco Bandai isn’t quite ready to share any specific details on what it makes it special. The publisher confirmed the PC release to Polygon after a listing was cited with the Australian Classification Board as well as the Steam Database.

So no official release date, pricing, or PC-specific features just yet, but we should find out soon since it’s shipping this month.

And I for one think this is one to be excited for on PC. I loved the Xbox 360 version. The platforming and fighting mechanics are fairly basic, but it all looks gorgeous, the AI companion is terrific, and it’s a well-told story featuring a seamless blend of gameplay and cinematic elements. Highly recommended.

Enslaved is the true evolution of videogame storytelling, but it sold about as well as polythene balaclavas. Meanwhile David Cage and Casey Hudson sell millions for throwaway garbage with twists that make no sense. There’s no justice.

Anyone who hasn’t played this game because it was on a console, do yourselves a favour and get it for PC. It’s well worth it.
