Counter-Strike Global Offensive Update Adds Weapon Skins

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the latest Valve title to receive customizable equipment. Much like Team Fortress 2 and DOTA 2′s hats and other cosmetic goodies, players in CS:GO can now equip cosmetic weapon skins in the new Arms Deal Update.

The Arms Deal Update lets you collect, buy, sell and trade over 100 all-new decorated weapons that you can equip in-game.

You can begin your collection of these decorated weapons through timed drops just by playing CS:GO on either official or community servers. You can also get them by opening dropped weapon cases with the appropriate key, or by trading with other players through Steam’s Trading interface. Additionally, any decorated weapons you’ve found, bought or traded can be sold on the Steam Marketplace.

Additionally, players can also obtain StatTrak-moduled weapons in cases. The StatTrak will record specific weapon kills and display them on items like a digital counter on a handgun or engraving on a knife.

Valve is also sponsoring eSports through its implementation of eSports 2013 Weapon Cases, the sales of which go directly to prize pools at CS:GO eSports events. These special cases contain rare, exclusive weapons.

Finally, the Arms Deal Update comes with two new silenced stock weapons available to everyone, the M4A1-S and the USP-S.

Further details about the update can be found at the official website.
