Crysis 2 Going DX11

Crysis 2 for the PC will be getting a major update that includes DirectX 11 support as well as a high resolution texture pack that should make an already attractive game that much attractiver and maybe, just maybe, will bring peace to the world. The patch, v1.9, will go out on Monday.

I find this interesting because it comes just days after that rumor that Crytek is working on a new TimeSplitters for a DX11-based super duper new Xbox console. Does this coincidence lend credence to that rumor or does it just mean that Crytek is finally getting with the times, man? I won’t even presume to guess.

I wonder how much different it will be. It’s not like dx11 in dragon age 2 or Stalker COP made an enormous difference.
