Crytek USA to Bid on Darksiders IP This Month

Crytek USA is planning to bid on the defunct THQ’s Darksiders IP when it is up for auction later this month.

CEO of Crytek USA David Adams expressed his interest in acquiring the IP via Twitter:

“Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators.”

Adams was co-founder and general manager of Darksiders developer Vigil Games. Crytek USA comprises 36 former Vigil employees.

Speaking with Destructoid, Vigil co-founder and Crytek USA member Ryan Stefanelli confirmed the company’s intention to bid on the IP. He said:

“When the Darksiders IP goes up for auction, Crytek will be bidding for it. Not much more to say since the rest is left up to courts and legal shenanigans, but we’re all excited at the prospect.”

Do you want to see Darksiders back in the hands of its rightful owners?

Sure, as long as they don’t decide to make it into a First Person game later on.

But I think Activision/Blizzard is looking at this.
